Bago River water level exceeds by over (4) feet above its danger level

The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) announced today that the water level of Bago River at Bago Region has exceeded by more than ( 4) feet (124cm) above its danger level.

DMH reported that according to the (13:30) hrs M.S.T observation today, the water level of Bago River at Bago Region has exceeded by more than ( 4) feet (124cm) above its danger level. It may continue to rise the present water level by about (3) inches during the next (1) day and may remain above its danger level. 

It is especially advised to the people who settle near the river banks and low-lying areas at Bago Township, to take precaution measures.

Due to the torrential rain started yesterday morning, river water flowed onto the low-lying wards.

The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (7.87) inches in Bago and it was the highest record during 59 years and the old record rainfall was (5.75) inches in 2018.

 After the torrential rain had poured down nearly all wards of the town, extensive flooding caused in not only townships of Bago region but also the downtown since yesterday night.
