A Myanmar woman who became stranded at Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport after discovering that her airline ticket was fraudulent has been successfully assisted and sent home, according to the Myanmar Labour Attaché Office in Thailand.
The woman had been travelling from Oman to Myanmar and was waiting in transit at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok for her connecting flight to Yangon.
While awaiting her onward journey, it was found that the ticket for her flight to Yangon was fake, leaving her stranded inside the airport and facing difficulties.
The passenger, identified as Daw Saw Nan Kyi, was reported to the authorities by the Thai Airport Police, who contacted the Myanmar Labour Attaché Office in Bangkok on 29 June regarding the incident.
Following the notification, the Labour Attaché Office coordinated urgently with Myanmar Airways International (MAI) to arrange a valid flight ticket and provide the necessary assistance, enabling her safe return to Myanmar.
