Versatile artist Sithu Bogale Tint Aung passed away on the night of December 16.

At the time of his death, he was 100 years old.

"Bogale Tint Aung passed away at around 11 pm on December 16 while receiving medical treatment at the SSC Hospital. He is 100 years old,” said an official from the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization.

Sithu Bogale Tint Aung is the patron of the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization and won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2018 Myanmar Film Awards.

In 1996, he won the National Literature Award and was also honored Social Scholarship (First Level), Bachelor of Arts Scholarship (First Level) awards. He was awarded the Sithu title by the state for his portrayal of Burmese culture.

Bogale Tint Aung started writing songs in 1940, broadcasting his songs in 1947, and moved to Yangon in 1949 to join Maung Ko Ko orchestra as a guitarist. He was a student of playwright Dagon Saya Tin, and he worked as composing songs, screenwriting and co-director. In 1950, he directed his debuted play "Smile Gift". This was followed by more than 40 plays, short plays, one-act play and about 100 musical plays.

In 1948, Myat Mon Yadanar was published as a book by the Sarpay Beikman and entered the field of literary art. In 1961, he published Ma Ma Moe screenplay as a novel. He wrote articles for newspapers, journal and magazines as a literary hobby and wrote a long article under the title Pann Winkabar from 1980 to 1982 in Music Magazine. And he won the 1996 Myanmar National Literature Award by Pann Winkabar article.

He also wrote many good songs in the field of music: Kyi Kyi Htay's song “Thet Saing Thu Tho” in 1953, a theatrical song named "New Year Chit Oo" in 1951, a theme song “Thanyawzin” in ‘May Myat Nwe’ movie in 1958, “Myet Wun Lae Pyar Pyar”, which Win Oo sang in ‘Hmone Shwe Yee’ movie, “Zayar” and “Jin Malay Jann” sang by Min Naung in 1968 and “Mhway Lwon Thi Pann” sang by pianist Chit Swe in 1970, which are still popular today.

In the field of film art, the film 'In Winter Night' was released in 1962. He also directed the successful drama 'Nge Kyuan Swe' in 1975 and directed many films.

Sithu Bogale Tint Aung will be entombed at the Yangon Yay Way Cemetery on December 18.
