The Ministry of Electricity and Energy is selling locally produced diesel to farmers at a price of 10,000 kyats per gallon, according to sources.

The Ministry of Electricity and Energy, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and the Nay Pyi Taw Council, is working to ease the difficulties of farmers in the Union Territory of Nay Pyi Taw and to make it easier for them to purchase diesel at affordable prices. Locally produced diesel is being distributed directly to the villages that are left to cultivate summer paddy and oilseed crops in 2025-2026 through a cash-on-delivery system at a price of 10,000 kyats per gallon.

On April 18, a total of 4,542 gallons of locally produced diesel were distributed and sold directly to farmlands where summer paddy and oilseed crops were cultivated, for use in agricultural machinery, at three locations in Lewe Township, two locations in Pyinmana Township, and two locations in Zeyarthiri Township.

The distribution will continue to be carried out in the remaining villages in Tatkone Township, Nay Pyi Taw, Union Territory, where summer paddy and oilseed crops are cultivated. Arrangements are being made to distribute domestically produced diesel at a reasonable price to farmers in the remaining regions and states with the approval of the relevant governments.
