Five people returned from United States, United Arab Emirates and India found infected with COVID-19 virus on August 14 bring total number of patients to 374, announced Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) on Friday night.
They are from Yangon Region, Shan and Rakhine states.
A total of 1,468 samples: 720 tested at National Health Laboratory, 165 samples tested at Department of Medical Research, 174 samples tested at Public Health Laboratory in Mandalay, 256 samples tested at Public Health Laboratory in Mawlamyaing and 153 samples tested at No.1 1000-Bed Military Hospital in Yangon, were tested for the first batch of August 14, it said.
A total of 322 patients are found negative twice till August 14 and 314 of them are allowed to be discharged from the hospital.
A total of 19,657 people: over 3,900 people in Yangon Region, over 2,600 people in Bago Region, over 2,500 people in Kayin State, over 2,700 people in Mon State, over 1,200 people in Magway Region, over 970 people in Mandalay Region, over 450 people in Kachin State, over 1,600 people in Taninthayi Region, over 930 people in Sagaing Region, over 660 people in Rakhine State, 590 people in Shan (south) State, 609 people in Ayeyawady Region, 324 people in Nay Pyi Taw, 87 people in Shan (north) State, 71 people in Chin State, 44 people in Shan (east) State and 92 people in Kayah State, are placed under quarantine for COVID-19 till August 12.
A total of 128,801 people are being tested till August 13 and the infected patients in townships are as per following: 52 in Insein Township, 29 in Hpa-an Township, 25 in Hlaing Township, 13 in South Oakalapa Township, 20 in Mayangon Township, 22 in Botahtaung Township, 12 in North Dagon Township, 15 in South Dagon Township, 17 in Kamaryut Township, 10 in Tamwe Township, 9 each in Bahan and Maungdaw townships, 8 in Tiddim Township, 7 in Pabedan Township, 6 in Kalay Township, 5 in Hlaingthayar Township, 7 in Mingaladon Township, 4 in Paukkhaung Township, 3 each in Pyay and Shwepyithar townships, 6 in Kalay Township, 2 each in North Oakalapa, Mingalataung Nyunt, Taunggyi, Ahlone, Sanchaung, Techilek, Thingangyun and Dawbon townships respectively.
