There have been eight fires in one day, including a light truck blaze in Yangon Region, according to the Myanmar Fire Services Department (MFSD).

It is reported that the fire started when the owner of Bongo Porter II light truck, parked at the corner of Ayeyawon Road and Thazin Road, Ward 66, Dagon Myothit (Southern) Township, Yangon Region, was trying to ignite the vehicle at around 12:34 pm on February 21.

When the fire broke out, the fire brigade and auxiliary fire brigade from Dagon Myothit (Southern) Township Fire Station and Dagon Seikkan Township Fire Station went to extinguish the fire with eight fire engines. The fire died down at 12:50 pm. The fire destroyed the light truck vehicle and a 50-gallon tank of used engine oil.

Similarly, a forest fire broke out on Maha Myaing Road at Warta Yar industrial zone, Shwepyitha Township in Yangon Region at around 2:15 pm on February 21 and four fire engines from Shwepyitha Township Fire Station, one fire truck each from Shwepyitha area fire station, industrial area fire station, Hmawby Township fire station and one water bowser each from Hlaingthayar Township fire station, Mayangone Township fire station, Mingaladon Township fire station, Hlegu Township fire station, Shwe Yaung Thamine Charity Association, Myat Kutho Charitable Association and the free funeral service society (Yangon) went to put out the fire, and the fire was extinguished at around 5:12 pm.

Also, a fire broke out at a house located on Nawarat Road between Ward 8 and Ward 10, Shwepyitha Township in Yangon Region at 2:27 pm on February 21 and a fire truck from Shwepyitha Township fire station and two fire trucks from Insein Township fire station went to put out the fire, and the fire was extinguished at around 2:38 pm.

Similarly, a fire broke out at a house located on Thila Shin Street, Kyauktan Township in Yangon Region at about 2:32 pm on February 21 and two fire trucks each from the Kyauktan Township fire station and Thilawa area fire station were dispatched to the scene. The fire was extinguished at around 2:46 pm.

Similarly, four fires broke out on Upper Puzuntaung Road, Setsan Ward, Mingalar Taungnyunt Township, in the oil field in the western quarter of Kyauktan Township, on Maha Myaing Road at Warta Yar industrial zone, Shwepyitha Township in Yangon Region and on U Xian Road Hlaingthayar Industrial Zone (2), Hlaingthayar Township inYangon Region.
