Three education staff members were injured after PDF members carried out an attack using FPV suicide drones on a branch high school in Indaw Township, Sagaing Region, while staff were preparing for the upcoming school opening season, according to reports.
The incident occurred on May 12 at Basic Education High School (Branch) (Aung Zeya) in Indaw, where teachers and office staff were reportedly making preparations for student enrollment, classrooms, and teaching materials ahead of the new academic term.
At around 11:45 a.m., two FPV suicide drones were allegedly launched by PDF members from a location about 2,600 meters west of Indaw town. The drones reportedly exploded inside the school compound, damaging school buildings.
As a result of the explosions, one primary school headmaster and two office staff members sustained non-life-threatening shrapnel injuries. Authorities said the injured were receiving necessary medical treatment.
Security forces are currently carrying out increased security measures in the area, reports said.
