Within 6 months, over 24,000 Myanmar migrant workers returned home from Thailand

Altogether 24388 Myanmar migrant workers returned home from Thailand since August 1 to February 2. 

Myanmar has welcomed 500 per people per day, three days a week. To prevent spread of Omicron, Myanmar has accepted 200 people per week initially but now beginning from December 15, Myanmar has welcomed 200 people per day, three days a week.

Those returning from Maesot Myawaddy route, they will have to undergone nasal swab test at Myawaddy quarantine centers and they have to stay 10 days quarantine. Those returning from Thailand are jobless people, those returned from Thailand as their parents are sick, and those freed from Maesot police stations for illegal entry.

Welcoming of Myanmar migrant workers had stopped in COVID-19 third wave but re-opened in August 1.
