In commemoration of the Kayin New Year which falls on January 11, unveiling ceremony of the Kayin National Symbolic image Frog Drum and buffalo horn was held in Taung Kalay Village, Hpa-an Township on January 9.

The opening ceremony witnessed the participation of Kayin ethnic dance troupes, traditional Kayin folk dance troupes, and cultural groups from different townships in Kayin State, all joining to mark the symbolic image unveiling for the 2024 Kayin New Year.

Sports competitions and traditional Kayin ethnic Done Yein dance competitions are also being held in the event.
