Authorities need to develop road access to Shwe Taung Yan beach as it is about only eight kilometers away from Chaungthar beach, according to locals.

The road leading to the beach was paved mostly in gravel or stone. Local businessmen have been repairing some portions of the road to become all-season roads.

“Only a small number of travellers visited the beach and most of them are local travellers. It is less known than Chaungthar beach as road access to the beach is bad,” said Thet Paing Soe from Lai Lai Hotel.

“People like the beach as water is clean and the beach is smooth and wide,” said Tin Tin Win, Manager of Shwe Taung Yan Hotel.

Although Shwe Taung Yan bridge connecting to Shwe Taung Yan with Chaungthar was opened in this government era, the road leading to the beach is needed to upgrade.
