The Palaung State Liberation Front/Ta'ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) has urged the government to implement an inclusive and practical political process by declaring a nationwide ceasefire, according to a statement released by the central committee of PSLF/TNLA) on January 15.

The statement came after TNLA's central committee held its annual general meeting from January 5 to 9.

The Ta'ang army said it was also ready to solve political problems through political means.

In the statement, the armed group also demanded the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS), which is trying to settle in the Palaung Self-Administered Region, return to its headquarters. The Palaung will be defended and coordination will be sought with RCSS.

Moreover, the TNLA central committee meeting objected to the Myanmar army's operations in ethnic regions, saying that it will continue to march towards its revolution goal together with Ta'ang people.

During the five-day meeting, TNLA reviewed its political, military and administrative affairs, the work of district and township administrative departments, the work of the central committee and implementation of policies on forest and land conservation.

The meeting was attended by 26 central committee members, seven auxiliary committee members, commandants, offices and other ranks and guests.
