Thailand grants 14-day free visa for Myanmar nationals starting from April 1

Myanmar citizens visiting Thailand previously received a 45-day free visa, but starting from April 1, they will only be granted a 14-day visa, announced the Myanmar Embassy in Thailand.

From April 1, 2023, only 14 days will be allowed with a free visa as before, so those who want to stay for a long time must apply for a visa at the Thai Embassy in Yangon, the Myanmar Embassy in Thailand announced.

Myanmar is among the countries which Thailand government agreed to give visa free from October 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023 and they can stay for 45 days with a free visa. Citizens with visa on arrival are allowed to stay for up to 30 days.

It is reported that not only Myanmar but Cambodia, Laos, Macao, Mongolia, Russia and other countries are also included in such changes.
