Tatmadaw (defence services) responded the news that the Arakan Army (AA) occupied the artillery strategic hill of Tatmadaw in Linmwaytaung fighting in MraukU is just a propaganda on August 28, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun, Secretary of Tatmadaw True News Information Team.

Mike Mai Facebook user wrote on August 28 that the AA occupied the artillery strategic hill of Tatmadaw in Linmwaytaung fighting in MraukU in the clash with the Tatmada and that the strategy commander lost life and 20 government soldiers were arrested alive. The list of the ammunitions and weapons were stated. The expression of the Facebook user is just a propaganda.

The clashes broke out between Tatmadaw and the AA intensified in MraukU, Rakhine State. The AA came to attack on Tatmadaw military columns taking security measures and the clashes appeared, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

"The artillery  is not  based there, but there are Tatmadaw military columns taking security measures. The armed groups are coming to attack on them. We haven't stationed our troops over there, but security forces are serving their duties on Union Highway. Our troops sometimes change places. It is not totally true Tatmadaw lost its strategic hill camp," said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

   Linmwaytaung is situated on Yangon-Sittwe motor road where a Tatmadaw military column is taking security measures. It is not active only at a single place, but active at different ones. Therefore, the AA came to attack on the Myanmar military column taking security measures on August 28, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.
