Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), Vice-Senior General Soe Win, hosted a delegation led by General Direk Bongkarn, Advisory Board Chairman of the Office of the Royal Thai Army Chief and Head of Army Operations Centre, Neighbouring Countries Coordination Centre (NCCC), at Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in discussions to strengthen diplomatic relations and friendly ties between the two nations and their respective armed forces.
The matters were also included such as enhancing relationships between leaders and senior officers of both Tatmadaws, promoting cooperation and successfully organizing annual meetings among officers at various levels, collaborative efforts to combat human trafficking and online scams in border areas, addressing issues related to illegal fishing activities by Thai trawlers in Myanmar’s territorial waters, plans for exchanging information to maintain peace and stability in the border regions, encouraging goodwill visits and fostering enhanced cooperation between senior military officials.
Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy, and Air), Lt-Gen Kyaw Swa Lin, and other senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief were also present at the meeting.
