RCSS urges ASEAN to intervene in Myanmar’s political problem

The Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) today announced a statement calling on ASEAN to intervene seriously in order to solve Myanmar’s political problem.

The annual meeting was held at Loi Tai Leng headquarters from January 26 to 28. The statement stated that only if a federal democratic union can be established, the problems of the Union of Myanmar will be solved.

The RCSS also announced that it will strive to resolve the political problems after discussing with the relevant organizations through dialogue. The statement further stated that efforts will be made to strengthen the long-term national unity of Shan State.

In addition, the RCSS will be striving to combat drug dealing in the RCSS-controlled area and to prevent online money fraud and human trafficking.

The meeting was attended by 256 members, including advisors, central executive members, and central committee members. At the meeting, annual business reports presented by various departments, current politics, military peace conditions, and other business conditions were widely reviewed and discussed, and the next steps were decided.
