Despite many things to worry about, there are plentiful investment opportunities in Rakhine State for both local and foreign investors, according to Rakhine Region Chief Minister U Nyi Pu.

"There are many opportunities to invest in Rakhine State especially in agriculture, livestock breeding and tourism sectors. If we prioritize these sectors, there will be gradual development in Rakhine State," said Rakhine Region Chief Minister U Nyi Pu.

In cooperation with Rakhine State government, Myanmar Investment Commission and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will be holding "Invest in Rakhine State" event in Ngapali from February 22 to 23.

The aim the "Invest in Rakhine State" is to connect interested business parties to facilitate economic growth in Rakhine State," continued U Nyi Pu.

Armed clashes that had occurred in northern Rakhine State will not affect investments in Rakhine State. There are interests in prawn breeding and tourism sectors, according to secretary of MIC Aung Naing Oo.
