Nammatu Creek Bridge on Lashio-Muse Union Road in Hsenwi Township, Lashio District, northern Shan State, collapsed after being hit by a drone attack this morning, local sources say.

"It's like a mine was planted to blow up the bridge when the troops were retreating.  But last night, bombs were continuously dropped using a drone. The exit and entrance roads were knocked down by a bulldozer,” said a local resident.

Eleven Media could not reach the relevant officials to independently verify the incident.

Hsenwi Bridge also called the Nammatu Bridge, is important for Lashio-Hsenwi-Kutaki-Muse Road and Lashio-Hsenwi-Kunlon-Chinshwehaw-Laukkai Road. It also serves as an important route between Muse 105th Mile Border Trade Zone and Chinshwehaw Border Trade camp.

Moreover, clashes were going on between Myanmar army troops and the northern alliance troops at Naimkhine Bridge between Kutkai and Namphaka on Muse-Mandalay Union Road.

The northern alliance troops are attacking the checkpoint of the bridge. They might have tried to blow up the bridges so that the military’s reinforcements could not come,” said a local resident.

The Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has reported that it raided the Mile airbase between Lashio and Hsenwi.
