Myanmar, St. Petersburg agree to enhance multi-sector cooperation

Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met and held discussions with Member of the Government of St. Petersburg and Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of the Government of St. Petersburg, Russia.

On the afternoon of October 14, at the Defence Services Guest House in Nay Pyi Taw, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with a delegation led by Mr. Evgeny Grigoryev, Member of the Government of St. Petersburg and Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of the Government of St. Petersburg, Russian Federation.

During the meeting, they discussed the ongoing positive development of friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Russia, the prospects for further enhancing this cooperation, and the plans to increase collaborative activities across various sectors including economic, health, technology, culture, tourism, youth, construction, and other areas.

Attending the meeting alongside the Senior General were: Commission Secretary Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Ko Ko Kyaw, and other responsible officials. Also in attendance, alongside the Chairman of the Committee for External Relations of the Government of St. Petersburg, Russian Federation, were H.E. Mr. Iskander AZIZOV, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Myanmar, and members of the delegation.
