U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar met with Shi Yugang, Deputy Secretary of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of the People’s Republic of China on the evening of 9 December, at the Haigeng Garden Hotel in Kunming, China and discussed about law and order along border area.
U Than Swe attended the 8th Langcang-Mekong Foreign Ministers Meetings held on December 7 in Beijing, China.
At the meeting, both sides exchanged views on consolidation of the existing traditional bounds of Myanmar-China Pauk-Phaw relations, the intensification of border trade, investment and mutually beneficial cooperation between Myanmar and China including Yunnan Province and enhancement of cooperation in matters related to rule of law, security, peace and stability along the border areas of the two countries.
