Members of NLD’s election campaign team test positive for COVID-19

PATHEIN-----17 members of National League for Democracy (NLD)election campaign team including three representatives-elect from Labutta Township, Ayeyawady Region, tested positive for COVID-19, according to the medical records released on December 5th.

When 17 NLD’s members including  three winning candidates drew the cash list aiming to report election canvassing budget to the Union Election Commission at the Labutta Township NLD’s office, they had been  infected with Coronavirus through the Computer typist. Some CEC members are being kept under Quarantine centers, says elected MP Kyaw Myint who already acts as the Ayeyawady Regional Municipal Affairs Minister.

All infected NLD’s members are in good condition and they are now receiving medical checkups at the Labutta District Hospital.

Those from Quarantine centers must receive further medical tests. Those infected NLD members had no contacts with the public and relevant governmental departments because the situation was the time for drawing a list on election canvassing expenses, according to the NLD’s election campaign team.

In Ayeyawady Region, there were 3,192 COVID-19 confirmed cases and 21 fatalities as well as 2,385 patients were discharged from the hospitals.
