Middle areas, deltaic and southern parts of Myanmar may have more rain and isolated heavy falls may occur in some areas due to the remains of rain clouds from a storm crossed from Vietnam beach, said Deputy Director Hla Tun from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).

“The rain clouds from the storm in Vietnam will take effect on Myanmar on August 31 and Magway, Mandalay, Shan, Kayah, Chin, Ayeyawady, Sagaing, Mon, Kayin, Taninthayi, Bago and Yangon will have more rain except for northern parts of Myanmar,” he said.

According to the observation made by the DMH on August 29, a low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal area of West Bengal is formed, announced the DMH.

“The low pressure area will not be affected on Myanmar and another low pressure area may form over Bay of Bengal on September 1 or 2. It may affect on Myanmar,” he said.

According to the observation made by the DMH for August 29, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Bago Region, scattered in Yangon and Ayeyawady regions, Kachin, Northern Shan and Rakhine states, fairly widespread in Magway Region, Eastern Shan, Chin and Kayin states and widespread in the remaining regions and states with regionally heavy fall in Nay Pyi Taw.

According to the observation made by the DMH for August 30, rain or thundershowers will be scattered in upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Rakhine states, fairly widespread in lower Sagaing and Magway regions, Chin State and widespread in the remaining regions and states with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon states and isolated heavy falls in Bago and Yangon regions. Degree of certainty is 100%.
