It has been announced that the town of Hopang in the “Wa” Self-Administered Division has been officially revised and re-designated as Metman.

The order was issued by the National Defence and Security Council pursuant to Constitution of Myanmar, Article 431, which grants authority under constitutional emergency and administrative provisions. The revision is intended to further strengthen the effectiveness and success of administrative governance and local development activities within the division.

The original designation of self-administered divisions and regions—including the naming of official administrative seats—was made by the State Peace and Development Council on 20 August 2010. In that notification, the administrative seat for the "Wa" Self-Administered Division was listed as Hopang. The recent order formally amends that reference, replacing Hopang with Metman as the official administrative seat of the division.
