Ministry of Construction is planning to build four new bridges on Chindwin River, said Deputy Minister Kyaw Lin on January 14.

“The ministry already built five bridges on Chindwin River and they are Chindwin Bridge (Hkamti), Chindwin Bridge (Homalin), Chindwin Bridge (Kalewa), Chindwin Bridge (Monywa) and Sinphyushin Bridge. According to our master plan, we will build four new bridges on Chindwin River. Chindwin Bridge (Htamanti) will be mainly connected to Leshi. Chindwin Bridge (Phaungpyin) and Chindwin Bridge (Mawleik) will be built. Chindwin Bridge (Mawleik) will build if the fund is available for it. The last one is connecting between Salingyi and Monywa,” he said.

The government has drawn Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan (MSDP) 2018-2030 to provide assistance to the development of the economy and the ministry has planned to build over 400 new bridges in this government era, said Kyaw Tint Swe, Union Minister for State Counsellor Office.
