Future peace process is needed to set based on union accord 3, said General Yawd Serk, Interim Leader of Peace Process Steering Team (PPST) and Chair of Shan State Restoration Council during an online video conferencing meeting held on November 25.

The meeting is very important to set the peace process as it is held after the fourth session of the Union Peace Conference – 21st Century Panglong.

The meeting will discuss the current political situation, peace and military affairs, peace process after the election, controlling, prevention and treatment of COVID-19 and other important matters, he said.

Moreover the meeting will discuss the plan to hold the second part of the fourth conference of NCA-SEAO as well as to set the specific guidelines for the peace process, he added.

The fourth session of Union Peace Conference – 21st Century Panglong was held from August 19 to 21 at Nay Pyi Taw and the union peace accord 3 was signed in three parts.

In part 1 of the union peace accord 3, 15 points of framework agreements on implementing the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement are included and in part 2, step-by-step process, and phase-by-phase implementation to be carried out after 2020 (Table-1) are included. In part 3, five points of agreement on the fundamental principles to establish a union based on democracy and a federal system is included.
