Fuel import value reaches more than $2000 million in four months of this fiscal year

Import value of of diesel and fuel reached more than US$2000 million in four months of the current fiscal year, with more than USD 194 million compared with the same period last year according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation.

From April 1 to August 4 of 2023-2023 FY, 1509,513 tons of diesel worth of US$ 1263.61 million were imported. In 2022-2023 FY, 887,443 tons diesel worth of US$ 1039.91 million was imported.

From April 1 to August 4 of 2023-2034 FY, 779,424 tons of diesel worth of US$ 745.36 million was imported. In 2022-2023 FY, 623,697 tons of diesel worth of US$ 774.21 was imported.

From April 1 to August 4 of current fiscal year, US$ 2008.97 million worth of diesel and petroleum were imported. From April 1 to August 4 of 2022-2023 FY, US$ 1814.12 million worth of diesel and petroleum were imported. If compare with the same period of two years, more than US$ 194.85 million worth of diesel and petroleum were imported in four months of current fiscal year.

WTI on October 20, 2023 reached US$ 89 a barrel. In domestic fuel market, a litre of diesel cost Ks. 2255, a litre of 92 Ron Octane cost Ks.2015 and a litre of 95 Ron cost Ks.2115 according to fuel stations.
