Two explosions occurred near South Okkalapa police station in the evening of December 9 according to people living nearby. 

The police station situates at the corner of Thittsar road and Thymingalar road in South Okkalapa Township. Nearby people said they heard the sound of explosion twice on December 9 at 5:30 pm.

“We heard the explosion twice. Previously, there were barriers in front of the police station but we didn’t see the barrier later,” said a local living near the police station.

News of injures because of explosions were spread but no confirmation can be made. After the explosion, many road checks were made in townships linking to South Okkalapa Township according to sources. 

Similarly, two explosions hit in the compound of Aung Mingalar Highway bus-terminal compound around 7:30 pm on December 9 according to locals.

“We heard the sound of explosions twice from the compound. Sources said it was from the passengers’ waiting place,” said a man living nearby.

Later, sources confirmed that explosions occurred near passengers’ waiting place on Mawlamyine Road in the compound. Later, security forces came and investigation were made according to sources.
