A five-year judicial strategic plan (2018-2022) is being implemented for speedy reform of Myanmar's judicial sector, according to a work coordination meeting on the implementation of Case Management Program-CMP with regional-level judicial departments and organizations.

Based on the results of CMP implemented at Hlaingthaya Township Court in Yangon Region in 2015, East District Court also implemented it on August 1, 2018. Again, the CMP is being implemented at township courts in East District, West District Court and township courts in West District beginning from July 1, said Yangon Region law officer Kyaw Swar Nyein.

"Can court data be easily available? Are staff members from courts good to deal with? Do they have good procedures? We collect these data. These will go till 2022. We will continue to try to meet our goals by 2020. Roughly, we have improved from 57 to 70 percent. We expect it to improve by over 100 percent," said Kyaw Swar Nyein.

The five-year strategic plan is divided into three categories—objectives, tasks and evaluations.

The aim of implementing the CMP is to ensure that clients and lawyers have enough time for their cases, seek cooperation from clients and ensure that courts win trust of public members through transparency.
