Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council and Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, said that politicians in exile, backed by some foreign countries, were carrying out attacks against the country’s sovereignty and national unity in collaboration with some ethnic armed groups who oppose peace.

He made this remark at the Passing-out Parade of the 24th Intake of Defence Services Medical Academy in Yangon on December 18.

He said that the health sector, which has no relation to the military, was deliberately attacked by the terrorists. He claimed that CRPH, NUG and PDF were trying to sabotage the country’s health care system by coercing health workers, including nurses, to join the CDM with intimidation and threats.

He said that some of the health workers violated their oath, creating a gap in the public health care work, and that military specialists, doctors and nurses had to fill in. He pointed out that terrorists were endangering the health and safety of the whole public by carrying out frequent arson and bomb attacks, harassing, pressuring and assaulting doctors, nurses and health workers and killing them mercilessly.

He said that these actions were extreme terrorist acts, and that they were unacceptable to any country or human society or Myanmar society.

He said that the attack on the health sector was an attack on the country’s human resources, and that it was a treacherous terrorist attack on innocent people.

He stressed that military doctors, as good soldiers, had to protect the people not only with their medical knowledge, but also with security awareness, after learning and understanding the terrible lessons of how the terrorist organizations had treated health workers.

Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, the wife of the SAC leader, Commander-in-Chiefs (Navy & Air), senior military officers, union ministers and invited guests also attended the parade ceremony.
