The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and the Palaung State Liberation Front/Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) held talks in Nay Pyi Taw on July 19, focusing on advancing the peace process and resolving political issues through political dialogue.

The meeting discussed cooperation under the government’s 100-day peace initiative, implementation of the agreed ceasefire, respect for the Haigen Agreement, and efforts to improve stability and the socio-economic conditions of local communities. Both sides also exchanged views on education, healthcare, regional development, and transport infrastructure in Ta’ang areas.

NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae said the meeting, the first between the two sides in Nay Pyi Taw, aimed to promote lasting peace, regional stability, and development. He also pledged cooperation to improve public services in Ta’ang areas.

PSLF/TNLA Vice Chairman (1) Tar Jote Jar welcomed the invitation to the talks, saying the discussions were held without preconditions and expressing hope that they would produce positive outcomes. He noted that fighting had ceased and that local communities had begun to experience greater stability.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both delegations signed a record of discussions, reaffirming their commitment to continue cooperating in the peace process.
