According to a press release from Myanmar’s Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC Myanmar), a joint team consisting of members of the Anti-Narcotics Police Force Shan stopped and searched a Toyota Hilux Revo vehicle with two men on board near Narkaw (3) Village on Kengtung-Mongsat Road in Kengtung Township, Shan State (East), at about 12pm on January 22.

The search led to the seizure of 500 blocks of heroin weighing 175 kilos worth more than 15.1 billion kyats, 1,502 kilos of ice (methamphetamine) and 55 kilos of Katamin.

Additionally, an M-16 gun with 30 bullets and one M-22 gun with 30 bullets were seized.

CCDAC Myanmar reported that legal action would be taken against the two men named Ah Saw and Ah Kaw, and measures are being taken to expose further accomplices.
