A violent robbery occurred in an apartment on Wannathike Street, Myattar Nyunt Ward, Tamwe Township, Yangon Region, yesterday.

According to local residents, a woman living on the first floor of the building was attacked by a man as she was leaving her home. The assailant covered her head with a bag and held a knife to her neck.

"A man suddenly covered her face with a plastic bag while she was locking the apartment door to go pick up her daughter. He then held a knife to her neck and forced her to unlock the door. Once inside, he hit her on the head. When she lost consciousness, he took cash, valuables, and mobile phones from the house. Her husband only discovered what happened when he returned home," a local resident recounted.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, sustained a knife injury to her neck. The perpetrator fled the scene and remains at large.
