Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and government officials meet regularly, said Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson of State Administration Council (SAC).
In response to The Daily Eleven newspaper's inquiry about whether Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and government officials are holding meetings, Major General Zaw Min Tun replied "There are regular meetings. Officials from us have been meeting since before especially with the Ministry of Home Affairs. This is a regular meeting. These are being done regularly."
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who has been sentenced to prison in Nay Pyi Taw prison, meets regularly with officials from the SAC, but the SAC has not released anything about the number of meetings and the topics discussed.
On July 9, the SAC confirmed that Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai met with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, and Major General Zaw Min Tun said that since the two met privately, they did not know the details of the topics discussed.
Similarly, last July, there were reports that U T Khun Myat, who served as the speaker of the People's Hluttaw during the NLD government, met with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
Currently, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has been sentenced to 32 years in prison for 19 cases, and two years of her sentence was reduced on December 6, 2021, and on August 1, 2023, six years of her sentence were reduced again.
