People cannot reply on vaccines completely as COVID-19 pandemic is still worse in countries where vaccines are injected, said Professor Dr Zaw Wai Soe, Vice Chairman of COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Treatment Coordination Committee for Yangon Region.

“The situation is worse in countries where the first vaccines are injected. For instance, about 50,000 or 60,000 people in United Kingdom have tested positive daily and death cases are over 1,000 daily. Similarly, 200,000 or 300,000 people in United States have tested positive and tens of thousands of people are died. Japan and South Korea have the same situations. So we cannot rely on vaccines completely. We need to wear mask, wash hands and stay apart from each other. It is important to warn each other about it,” he said.

The number of positive patients is declined in Myanmar and death tolls are reduced.

“The infect rate is declined. We are able to cure the patients and death tolls are declined. Previously, number of death cases was over 40 daily and now it is reduced. It is showing the situation is good,” he said.
