The Speaker of the Shan State Parliament, U Sai Lone Kyaw, has called on lawmakers to remain actively engaged with the public and prioritize national interests during the parliamentary recess.
Speaking on the final day of the parliamentary session, the Speaker emphasized the importance of listening to the voices of the people, understanding their needs, and working to serve the public interest. He urged representatives to gather public feedback and reflect the people’s desires and expectations in parliamentary processes.
He also encouraged lawmakers to raise questions, submit proposals, and introduce and approve necessary legislation through the parliament. In addition, he highlighted the need to amend existing laws to ensure they remain relevant to current conditions.
The Speaker stressed that such efforts are essential to strengthening public trust and confidence. He expressed confidence that parliamentarians would continue striving to advance the interests of both the nation and its citizens, while working towards the effective implementation of a multi-party democratic system.
