Myanmar Tourism Entrepreneurs Association (MTEA) is coordinating with the State-owned Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) to be able to conduct day trip flights between Yangon and Ngapali as part of resuming domestic tourism, according to the association.

The date of flight resumption will be announced after coordination.

“Currently, we are negotiating about prices. Ticket fare will include hotel accommodation. Under the approval of the Ministry of Health and Sports, hotels on the Ngapali beach will be used. It will be a day use. Visitors will arrive in the morning and leave in the evening. After price negotiation, we will announce the starting date,” said MTEA chairman Naung Naung Han.

In a bid to resume domestic tourism, the Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism held a video conference with the chairmen and secretaries of Myanmar Tourism Federation and 11 brother associations. According to the meeting, the ministry will be cooperating with region/state governments and tourism organizations to conduct day trips and flights to Bagan and Ngapali.

“Domestic flights resumed on December 16. To show Covid safe travel in Myanmar to the international community, non landing sightseeing flights and river cruise tours are being organized by following Enchanting Myanmar Health and Safety Protocol. So, we are closely cooperating with relevant ministries and organizations to conduct day trip flights to Ngapali and Bagan and caravan tours in accord with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports for our tourism revival,” the minister said.
