Two Men Found Dead With Gunshot Wounds in Thanbyuzayat Township

The bodies of two men with gunshot wounds and their hands tied behind their backs were discovered near Htin Yu Village in Thanbyuzayat Township, according to local residents.

The bodies were found at around 10 a.m. on May 20 near a rubber plantation owned by U Than Aung along the Thanbyuzayat–Karoppi–Htin Yu–Anin road, close to Htin Yu Village. Local residents said the two men had been tied up from behind and were dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

A local resident said the victims had swollen injuries on their faces, while bullet wounds were found on their necks, chests, and thighs.

“We still do not know who the deceased are. Eight shell casings were found near the bodies, but we do not know what type of ammunition they were,” the resident said.

Residents reportedly transported the bodies to the Thanbyuzayat Township People’s Liberation Hospital.

Authorities are said to be conducting investigations into the deaths of the two men.

Earlier, on the morning of May 14, the bodies of three men with their hands tied behind their backs and gunshot wounds to the head were also discovered near Mashikana Pagoda along the Thanbyuzayat–Ye highway in Thanbyuzayat Township.
