Clash breaks out between Tatmadaw and AA near borderline

A landmine planted by the AA exploded on the arrival of some BGF police from the boundary No BP-56 security outpost of Myanmar-Bangladesh border fence taking security measures along the borderline at the distance of 1,700 meter, south of the BP-56 security outpost and then a clash broke out, according to the report of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services. 

Some 50 AA waited ahead and attacked Tatmadaw military column and the combined team of the BGF police while they were joining at the distance of 400 meter. The skirmish broke out and the AA retreated back and fled to Bangladesh, according to to the report of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.

Four damaged strongholds of the AA were discovered and two BGF police were injured in the mine explosion. The BGF police continues cracking down on the AA and taking area security measures, according to the report of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.

According to a tip-off about the AA members disguising themselves as local people that are active in Thayetpyin village, Buthidaung, Rakhine State, the BGF police and Tatmadaw military column went there on January 13 and local people were questioned, according to the report of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.

15 suspects were found and they were interrogated. 13 out of 15 suspected were released and two were detained. According to the interrogations, it was learnt that village administrator Maung Than Hlaing and villager Kyaw Win were collecting extortion money from the local people and sending reports on the activities of BGF police. Authorities would take legal actions against the two suspects under rules and regulations, the report of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services said.

Tatmadaw military column taking security measures in Yathedaung seized Sein Oo and Sein Tha Kyaw who were sending reports on the activities of the BGF police together with two Samsung phones at the distance of 3000 meter, north of Kyeintha village in Yathedaung and they would be handed over to local police station, the military report said.
