53 more Myanmar workers arrested for illegal entry into Thailand

A total of 53 Myanmar workers were arrested in Sangkhla Buri district of Kanchanaburi province for illegally crossing the border to Thailand on April 30, Thai media reported.   

Those captured for illegal entry to Thailand were 35 men and 18 women coming from Yangon, Mawlamyine, Bago and Rakhine State.

Each of them was charged 20,000 to 30,000 baht to enter Thailand and work in Samut Sakhon, Rayong, Kanchanaburi and Bangkok.   

Those arrested had Covid-19 tested and were taken to Sangkhla Buri Police State to face action in accord with the Thai law.

On April 26 also, 42 undocumented Myanmar workers were arrested in Sangkhla Buri for illegal entry into Thailand.
