The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) announced that an earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale struck near the town of Banmauk.
At about 1:27 pm on October 16, a small earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale was detected at a depth of 159 kilometers, about 13 miles west of Banmauk, about 46 miles northwest of the Katha Seismological Station.
The earthquake that struck this time was not an aftershock after a major earthquake, but occurred near the town of Banmauk.
Similarly, on October 13, a slight earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale shook near the town of Kani.
