Thirty eight Lisu households displaced by fighting in Kachin State were relocated on February 22 near the town of Sadone after Ks300 million had been spent.

A land area (4.5 acres) was donated by Nok Tar from Hsarrana Village. A total of 40 houses were built in Nasa Village with a fund of Ks300 million from the Ministry of Border Affairs. The construction of a house cost K7.5 million. The construction project also includes a 5,000-gallon tank.

Lisu nationals that had lived in border areas are moving to other villages and to  the compound of Sagon Township General Administration Department.

A ceremony was held on February 22 to hand over the newly-built homes to those Lisu families. Some ministers from the Kachin State government attended the event and presented rice, edible oil, bean, salt, cash for ration, household utensils and treated mosquito nets. The State Red Cross Society also donated a hygiene kit worth Ks13.7 million.
