A 32-foot-long whale shark was found dead off Thedan village in Kyunsu township, Taninthayi Region, on November 29, according to local sources. 

The dead giant fish was discovered near a fishing site off the east of Thedan village in Sakhanthit village-tract.

“A fisherman found the dead fish on November 29. It was a whale shark with 32 feet in length and 6 feet in width,” said a local villager.

Commandant of Kyunsu Township Naval Headquarters Commodore Thein Htoo, faculty members and students of Myeik University and officials visited the scene to study the giant whale shark. 

The fish was later buried on the beach in Thedan village.
