COVID-19 positivity rate in Shinbyawyan high school in Tanine Township, Myikyina district, Kachin State, has been increasing and infection has been spread to students, teachers and parents according to locals.

COVID-19 spread in the high school was first detected since December 6 and at present 120 people including (90 students, and 30 teachers and parents) have been infected according to locals. 

“We found another 22 students and 6 parents infected on December 9.  Another 6 was also found out that they were infected with the virus on December 10. They are in good health. I think the school has to close again as the numbers of positivity rate has increased,” said a man helping the health care workers.

In Shinbyawyan, 5,423 people were tested for COVID-19 and among them 549 were positive patients where 453 were recovered from the virus and 3 were killed according to the data of health workers.
