The first day of the group meeting of elected Pyithu Hluttaw (Lower House) representatives was held today (March 30).
During the meeting, which is part of the Presidential Electoral College process, the group of elected Lower House representatives nominated two candidates for Vice President. Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, and Dr. Kyaw Swe, a Pyithu Hluttaw representative from Taungdwingyi Township representing the National Unity Party, were each proposed by respective representatives. The nominations were then formally submitted to the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw.
The Speaker subsequently announced the list of Vice Presidential candidates submitted through the nominations.
