A total of 20 fire incidents were reported across Yangon Region between February 14 and 17, according to a statement from the Myanmar Fire Services Department.
On February 17, a grass fire broke out on Kyansitthar Street in Ward 84 of Dagon Seikkan Township and was extinguished by firefighters. Fires were also reported the same day in Shwepyithar Township and Htantabin Township.
On February 16, a fire occurred at Basic Education Primary School No. 23 in Kula Gyi Su Village, Hlaingthaya (West) Township. Fire engines and water tankers were dispatched from the township fire station to contain the blaze.
Other incidents on February 16 included a bush fire in Shwe Paukkan New Town, a grass fire in Nwe Khwe Ward of Mingaladon Township, a poultry farm fire in Taikkyi Township, and a vehicle fire in South Okkalapa Township.
Seven fires were recorded across the region on February 15, while five incidents were reported on February 14.
