The Office of the National Defence and Security Council (NDSC) issued Order No. 51/2025 on December 10 to appoint U Kyaw Naing Win as Deputy Minister for Energy.

The National Defence and Security Council (NDSC) has appointed U Kyaw Naing Win as Deputy Minister for Energy in accordance with Article 427, Sub-section b of the 2008 Constitution, the order states.

U Kyaw Naing Win was appointed to fill the vacant position after U Thant Sin, the Deputy Minister for Energy, was dismissed from his post by the Office of the NDSC on November 25.

On November, Deputy Minister for Energy U Thant Sin was suspended from his duties after reports emerged that fuel importers were being investigated by the relevant authorities for speculation in fuel imports.
