It is reported that primary healthcare activities and immunization programs for children under 15 years of age are continuing in Kyaukme Township.
The Ministry of Health is working to expand public healthcare coverage, and in Kyaukme Township, Northern Shan State, the Township Public Health Department and Rural Health Departments have been reopened to strengthen primary healthcare services.
Basic health staff from the Kyaukme Township Public Health Department are providing healthcare services to local ethnic residents in Kyaukme town and surrounding villages. Their efforts include disease prevention and control, maternal and child healthcare, school health programs, and immunization campaigns. To reinforce immunization coverage, health workers have been conducting follow-up vaccination activities and special immunization programs (Special Immunization Activities) targeting children under 15 years of age, using various methods to ensure every child is reached.
Between October 10 and 14, 2025, basic health staff from the Kyaukme Township Public Health Department vaccinated a total of 1,318 children under the age of 15 with the required vaccines.
Similarly, at the Laba Muni Chinese Monastery School in Kyaukme Township, a temporary clinic was opened on October 5, 2025, to provide healthcare services to local ethnic residents. Residents from nearby areas have also been receiving treatment there. Between October 5 and 14, 2025, a total of 1,324 patients received necessary medical care at the temporary clinic.
