According to reports, a total of 2,760 students are currently attending school in Kyaukme Township, Northern Shan State, as 254 more students were newly enrolled today (October 14).
The No. (1) Basic Education High School in Kyaukme reopened on October 8, and today, No. (4) Basic Education High School and No. (4) Basic Education Middle School began accepting student registrations. With the additional 254 students enrolled today, the total number of attending students has reached 2,760.
The newly enrolled students have been provided with free school textbooks, writing materials, and educational supplies by the Ministry of Education. Relevant department officials are also assisting with any additional needs.
In parallel, authorities from the Department of Immigration and Population are carrying out household registration checks and issuing national identity cards to residents returning to Kyaukme.
Furthermore, security forces are actively conducting mine clearance operations around government offices and public areas in the town.
In support of public health, doctors and nurses from the Ministry of Health and the military have opened a temporary clinic at Kyaukme Larbamuni Chinese Temple, where they are treating patients. As of today, 106 outpatients and 5 inpatients are receiving necessary medical care at the facility.
