The Union Election Commission (UEC) has announced that domestic and international election observers can apply for permission to observe the general election from September 16 until December 5.
The UEC stated that domestic election observers who wish to observe the multi-party democracy general election, which will be held in stages starting on December 28, 2025, can apply for election observation permission from September 16 until December 5, 2025, at the Union Election Commission and the relevant sub-commission election offices of the region/state, district, and township they wish to observe.
It is also known that the UEC announced on September 16, 2025, the Code of Conduct for Domestic Election Observers for Parliamentary Elections through Order No. (68/2025) and the Procedures for Domestic Election Observers through Order No. (69/2025). These orders can be viewed and downloaded on the UEC's official website at https://www.uec.gov.mm.
The UEC has also notified that it will permit international election observers to observe the multi-party democracy general election by either sending direct invitations to representatives from relevant countries and international organizations, or by inviting representatives from foreign embassies, consulates, and permanent representative offices that have diplomatic relations with the State, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
