About 500 trucks entering Myanmar from Thailand are stuck at the Thai-Myanmar border, according to Thai PBS World.

The Myanmar government has imposed strict restrictions on the movement of goods, and about 500 ten-wheeler trucks entering Myanmar from Thailand are stuck, according to the report.

The trucks are stuck at the Mae Sot-Myawady Border Gate No.2 in Tak Province, Thai PBS reported.

At a meeting of the State Security and Peace Commission (SSPC) held on August 12, the commission Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that there have been recent arrests of illegal trades in border areas. Combating illegal trades will not only establish the rule of law but also reduce armed violence. Armed terrorists in border areas will use the bribes they collect from illegal trade to build their power, which will affect national stability and the rule of law. Therefore, we must effectively combat illegal trade to bring about stability, peace, and the rule of law. Those responsible must also take systematic and rigorous action to identify and prevent illegal trade, and they must fulfill their duties with loyalty to the state.
