The university entrance exams for the 2024-2025 academic year officially started today (March 17). 

The exams will be held from March 17 to March 22. As of the third week of February, over 220,000 students had registered to take the exams.

Additionally, special exam centers have been arranged in hospitals for students undergoing medical treatment during the exam period. 

These centers are set up at Yangon General Hospital, North Oakkalapa General and Teaching Hospital, Central Women’s Hospital, and Waibargi Specialist Hospital. The Ministry of Health announced this arrangement on March 8.

For the 2025 university entrance exams, students who have passed Grade 9 but were unable to take the exams previously for various reasons, as well as those who failed the entrance exams, have been given the opportunity to sit for the exams as external candidates, according to the Myanmar Examinations Department.
